THE STORY BEHIND IT: My father was a film maker full of memories and stories from a long lived life. Creating stories and moods on film had taken him to every corner of the planet. Large candles burned like a big, melting forest on his terrace in the Hollywood Hills and in the flickering lights, he would tell me about his adventures. He found it interesting that every fragrance was connected to a memory - so he decided to create his own line of fine fragrances. His wish was to create scented candles and perfumes, so together we began to explore the powerful impact of fine fragrance and how it enhances the self-care experience. A few months later, his heart gave up and he passed away. I knew it was the right time for me and for RAAW to adopt his vision of a fragrance series, as he would have wanted. Before he passed, we created his first scent, which was the Blackened Santal. What he didn’t know is that it won an award a few months after it launched.

ART. 1953: My father’s birth year. This is the first fragrance we created together, so it’s dedicated to him.

Our Eau de Parfum is crafted with precious oils and organic sugarcane alcohol, blended to perfection, creating a layered depth that lingers on the skin.

Will the sandalwood and vanilla composition smell sweet or more woody?
The sandalwood and vanilla notes lean more deep-woody and sensual than sweet. The vanilla feels smooth and warm - not overly sweet - and it’s beautifully anchored by rich sandalwood and cedarwood. A subtle smoky nuance adds depth, keeping the fragrance sophisticated, balanced, and far from anything artificial or overly sweet.

How do I make the scent last longer?
There are three steps you can take to make your Blackened Santal fragrance last longer:
1. Moisturize: Lay a base for your fragrance by applying a body lotion/cream or oil. This helps the fragrance last longer.
2. Perfume Oil: Secondly, apply a perfume oil as a fragrant primer for the third and final step: Perfume. We recommend pairing the Blackened Santal Eau de Parfum with the Blackened Santal perfume oil for a more intense and long-lasting scent.
3. Perfume: Now, apply Blackened Santal as the last and final step to complete the routine. You will now have a more intense and lasting fragrance throughout the day.
