7 tips on how to make your perfume last longer
Do you also wish your perfume would last forever on your skin? While that is not possible yet, there are a few secret tips on how to make your perfume last longer that I would love to share with you:
1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
Not only is hydrated skin healthier and smoother, but it also helps a fragrance last. So before applying your perfume, make sure your skin is hydrated.
2. Go for "Eau de Parfum".
It has a higher oil concentration than "Eau de Toilette" and is therefore stronger and longer-lasting.
3. Or even better, go for perfume oils.
There are many reasons to love perfume oils. They typically have an even higher concentration plus they typically contain carriers that hydrate the skin simultaneously. RAAW uses Coconut Oil, for example, which is amazing to hydrate your skin.
4. Apply it on the right spots...
...such as inside of your wrists, elbows, neck and behind the ears - aka "pulse points". On these spots, your skin is thinner and the blood vessels are therefore closest to the skin. Consequently, pulse points are also close to body heat, which warms up the fragrance and projects it from your skin into the air around you.
5. Spray, don't rub.
I know this may be counterintuitive, but rubbing makes the top notes fade quicker and ruins the aroma.
6. Spray after a shower.
Right after a shower is the best time to apply perfume. Your skin is hydrated from the water and your pores are open, which already helps the fragrance to last.
7. Spray your hair brush!
This might be one of my favorite tips. The alcohol contained in perfumes can dry out hair and irritate the scalp, so I don’t recommend spraying it directly to your hair. Instead, I like spraying my perfume onto my hairbrush before combing my hair, leaving it with a light and fresh scent.
